Towards a Public Geodata Repository

Over the last year, the OSGeo Public Geodata Committee has worked to build a publically created and maintained respository of freely available geographic data. This round-table discussion will feature participants from the committee, who will present the work done thus far, and discuss the numerous hurdles involved in offering such a repository, both in hosting the data itself, and in cataloging the metadata needed to make the repository useful. We will also review the existing and available resources, and discuss how attendees can participate in and benefit from the ongoing effort.
