Heavy Traffic: How The BC Integrated Land Management Bureau Used Open Source to Deploy Government-Strength GeoWeb Services
Presentation | Presented
- Michael Ross, BC Integrated Land Management Bureau
British Columbia was one of the first provinces in Canada to offer its geographic data through OGC Web Services. The number of getMap requests per month has grown from 4,000 in 2002 to an impressive 2.0 million today. Over five terabytes of topographic and resource mapping and imagery is accessible for free. Our web service software is a mix of open and closed source. Find out what open source products we used, how they worked for us, and how we plan to move beyond access and into geoprocessing.
