OSGeo: A community of communities

Presentation | Presented

  • Tyler Mitchell, OSGeo

OSGeo fills many roles, but it is primarily an organisation helping projects and people to collaborate in several areas. Learn more about these areas, the groups involved and the projects that OSGeo hosts.

This talk gives a brief history of OSGeo and its projects. You'll learn more about the OSGeo software projects, how new projects join, go through an internal incubation process and graduate as an official project.

You will also learn about the other efforts that OSGeo members are involved in: promoting projects at trade shows, leading workshops, writing educational curriculum, our journal publication and more.

You are invited to join OSGeo - this talk will help explain the areas that you can be involved in, such as volunteering time, becoming a sponsor or helping to gather data for special projects.
